Chevrolet Cruze 'ECO'

"A Rare Win-Win for Buyers Seeking Some Fun as Well as Those Wanting Thrift..."- Car And Driver

'Eco' doesn't mean it is any less fun to drive...

High Gas Prices have become a fact of life.  Hybrid Technology is expensive, Diesel Equipped Cars are noisy and come with Higher Maintenance Costs, and Electric Cars are still a few years away from becoming the norm.  What is the Car Buyer to do in the Meanwhile?

Enter the Chevrolet Cruze 'ECO'...

The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze lineup is expanded with the introduction of the Cruze 'ECO' Model.  The Chevrolet Cruze 'ECO' utilizes some of the latest technologies to improve upon the already astounding Fuel Economy Figures.  How do they do it?  Simple....

AREODYNAMICS-

Motorized Shutters on the Lower Air Intake Open and Close During High Speed Driving to Increase Fuel Economy.
The Suspension (with Springs Borrowed from the Optional 'RS' Sport Suspension) was lowered 0.4 Inches.
AirFlow is Smoothed Beneath the Car with Additional Underbody Panels and a Full Width Air Dam Beneath the Front

Fascia was Added.

A Thin Rear Spoiler and Subtle Front Grille Changes were made to increase the net Aerodynamics of the Cruze 'ECO'.

The Result? A Claimed 10 Percent Drop in Aerodynamic Drag.

REDUCTION IN OVERALL MASS-

Mass was cut in more than 40 locations, including thinner sheet metal in selected components and by reducing

the length of weld flanges.

17 Inch Forged Aluminum Wheels with Ultra-Low-Rolling-Resistance Tires (from the Chevrolet Volt)

The Result? The Cruze 'ECO' Model weighs more than 200 Lbs LESS than the Chevrolet Cruze 1LT Turbo.

Less Weight Requires Less Fuel to Move and often has a Positive Effect on Braking, Acceleration, and

Handling.

MANUAL TRANSMISSION-

The Only Cruze Turbo Model Available with a 6 Speed Manual Transmission
The Cruze 'ECO' Model also Features a Clutch-Based Variable Displacement A/C Compressor for Reduced Parasitic Loss

when the Air Conditioning
isn't on.
